There will be other fun events taking place over the weekend, including a REAL golf outing, a GTFORE Legends of the Game tournament (35 Years and Over), and spouse activities. Details will continue to be released as they are finalized. About The Player's Charity Championship
In 1999, the first live, player run Golden Tee tournament was held at Splinters Sports Club in Palatine, Illinois. In 2002, Splinters hosted the first live tournament with an official secondary bracket (Purple Bracket), insuring for the first time that “everyone plays on Sunday.”
Five years later, Splinters hosted the original Golden Tee Players Charity Championship (PCC), the first Golden Tee tournament held for charity. More than $40,000 was raised by Video Golfers for Underdogs (VG4U), and those funds were immediately gifted to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
The second Golden Tee Players Charity Championship was held in St. Louis in 2008. More than $44,000 was raised by VG4U for Make-A-Wish at the event.
The PCC3 Raised over $90,000 in 2010 and benefited Salute, Inc. It was the largest Golden Tee fundraising event to date.
Since 2006, over $175,000 has been raised by Golden Tee Players to benefit charity.
About Video Golfers for Underdogs (VG4U)
VG4U was created to support the PCC events. The organization is a recognized 501c3 charity and serves as the conduit between GT players and their favorite charities.
